My site is called The Inspired Explorer, and my mission, for both myself and readers, is firmly grounded in the root verbs of those two words: inspire and explore.
This site aims to INSPIRE. I’m always pursuing travel opportunities with zest, trying to think about travel as creatively as possible, and cultivating some out of the box thinking when I’ve been captured by an idea. I allow everything I interact with via smell, taste, sight, sound to transport me in the moment and provide travel inspiration. For the reader, I’ll instill that same sense of wonder by providing details on my sources of inspiration before, during, and after travel, and offering tools and resources to assist with turning their inspiration into exploration.
The other half of the name and mission statement covers the very human urge to EXPLORE. If Inspire answers the questions of how and why to travel, Explore provides the what and where of travel. For myself, the Explore portion witnesses my travels, ranging from local long weekends to larger, longer sojourns, as well as experiences of other passionate travel enthusiasts from a variety of perspectives (the perpetual backpacker, the retired, globe-trotting couple, the vacationist, etc.) I’ll offer the reader more details on food, accommodations, cultural experiences, adrenaline boosting activities, and more, and provide comprehensive overviews of the places I know well and the places I continue to get to know as I travel.
